Wednesday 091703

I’d like to thank Paul Bowler, Bob Fagan and Jeff Lamothe for their assistance yesterday (Wednesday 091703) in the dismantling & hauling of SeTherin.  Jeff and I finished securing the mast and tiding up at 5pm just in time for an evening sail. I was invited aboard “She's the Boss” owned by John Sutherland, the J-105 Jeff crews on Wednesday nights. With most the regular crew onboard we tacked a dozen or more times towards Napatree Point with the last of the ebb. Rounding a virtual mark abeam the Sealy (mattress) Castle on the island's eastern most point we set the spinnaker for the trip home. After a number of jibes I've a much better understanding of the asymmetric, tack line & sprit operation.

After a couple of beers and something to eat at the Seahorse with the crew, I docked SeTherin in the backyard around ten for her long winter's nap. In reality a lot of maintenance is planned, the largest, stripping the bottom for a new paint job & a bit of fiberglass work here and there.
