We had a decent start and tacked offshore for current and wind at first opportunity which worked out well. I overstood the layline at the RI bell more than I should, a bit concerned about traffic. There was a small snafu on the hoist, though Adam having experienced a similar situation Saturday at Lords’ MOA, quickly sorted it out this time.
We decided to give some bias to the shore for current relief, though Thunder Chicken stayed offshore for a more direct course to the finish with no appreciable harm (for a sixth in fleet compared to our 15 th).
Yet our duck inshore around GPL R22 paid dividends against Cosmic (apparently ahead farther offshore) allowing us to lead them across the line by twenty seconds.
It was a very nice evening for the season's last sail aboard SeTherin. Thanks to our enjoyable crew of Adam, Brian, Dan & Josh. :)
